Drug Courts and Their Stellar Results Going to Pot

Just when drug courts looked like they were turning the tide on substance abuse, along came states like California with their progressive (read: lax) attitude toward "medical" marijuana. What started out as a treatment for cancer treatment side effects is now being prescribed for headaches and bad moods.

Law enforcement and drug court officials are increasingly concerned that attempts to free users from their dependence will begin to see more pushback because addicts will be less likely to view their drug of choice as a problem or as a reason to try to get free from its grip.

Guess it's true what Bob Dylan said: You're gonna have to serve somebody.
