We all pursue something...

Whether wealth and power -- prestige and success...

Whether purpose and meaning -- joy and hope...

At the heart of it all, humanity seeks.

We are different than all the other creatures on earth. We reason, we ponder, we meditate on the unknown. However, since we don’t settle for instinct, we struggle with life’s questions. We wrestle with pain, suffering, and trial. We test our conscience. We weigh thoughts of fairness and justice. We discern right and wrong. We cherish good – we contemplate evil.

In a nutshell, existence isn’t enough for humankind. We’re all driven to pursue more...

Living the “true life” is hard work. Pondering the miracle of our origin and the mystery of our destiny is deep stuff. The quest has driven some to numbing fear, others to hedonistic escapism, and still others to vain philosophy. Some commit their lives to good works and charity, while others go insane.

So, looking at the legacy of humanity over the last 5,000 years, what seems to be the Greatest Pursuit of all?

Success?

Happiness?

Power?

Love?

Maybe asked better, “What should be the Greatest Pursuit of all?”
