Two years ago, Chuck Colson recorded a Two-Minute Warning video suggesting that it was time for Christians to think through the issue of civil disobedience. It’s a scary phrase, but it shouldn’t be. The Civil Rights Movement was led by Christians, who believed they were required by conscience to disobey the state when it was required in order to obey God.

I had the privilege this week to interview Dr. Alveda King, whose father and uncle, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. were leaders of the movement. She talks about her experience growing up committed to civil disobedience, and agrees with Chuck that we need to be courageously prepared for civil disobedience today in light of the HHS Mandate.

On August 1, Father Frank Pavone of Priests for Life announced that his organization would practice civil disobedience and not obey the mandate.
