Instead of the so-called war on women, we should be concerned about the growing war on women and men—it’s the war on the very idea of gender itself.  The first skirmishes of this war are being fought in America, but in Sweden it’s full battle mode against anything that even resembles traditional gender distinction.

In Sweden, they merge men’s and women’s sports leagues, omit gender distinctions from traditional songs and stories, and market boy’s and girl’s toys and clothes interchangeably. One preschool even eliminated “free playtime” to prevent gender bullying. In preschool!

And now the word “hen” has been introduced in the Swedish National Encyclopedia to erase gender from the Swedish language, itself. The idea is that gender is socially constructed and must be reconstructed by new language. But while some gender roles are culturally determined, sexual distinction is not. It’s just biological reality.

A culture without gender is one that denies reality, and that’s no place for boys or girls to grow up. For thePointRadio.org, I’m John Stonestreet.
