Human Pills

Officials in South Korea recently discovered thousands of pills containing flesh from human babies. Apparently the market for these pills is driven by many South Koreans who wrongly believe that the flesh from babies and human placentas provides special health benefits.

According to The Daily Mail, officials think these pills came from babies aborted, stillborn, or murdered because of China’s one-child policy.

The story is horrible. And while it’s important to note that these pills were created and sold illegally, is it all that surprising in a culture that has legally devalued human life for the last 30 years? It’s this culture of death that Chinese activist Chen Guangcheng has tried to reform.

It looks like the U.S. is now trying to help Chen and his family — who have been tortured, imprisoned, and terrorized for his stance against the one-child policy — escape China, as it should. In the meantime we should pray for him and the culture he and millions of Chinese Christians seek to reform.

For ThePointRadio.org, I’m John Stonestreet.
